Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum three years of experience as a systems database administrator in a Microsoft SQL Server environment
• Minimum three years of experience maintaining multiple database environments and regions for production, development and test
• Minimum three years of experience with SQL scripting and command shell scripting
• Minimum three years of experience with MS SQL BI tools (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS) or similar BI software
• Experience with data warehouse environments, governance and coding best practices
• Ability to document source code, installation processes, and data governance
• Proficient with Outlook, Word and Excel; strong communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with policies

Responsibilities

• Provide technical management for database environments ensuring security, integrity, performance, availability and recoverability.
• Develop and test backup and recovery plans for critical production databases.
• Control access to databases through authentication/authorization and audit usage.
• Audit database security and user access to meet regulatory requirements.
• Monitor database server resources to meet performance and availability targets.
• Install, test and maintain database software, patches and upgrades.
• Plan storage and capacity for all database environments.
• Document architecture, installation procedures, data governance, and coding guidelines.
• Collaborate with developers to optimize SQL for production deployments.
• Perform other related duties as required.
