Job summary

UCLA Health in Los Angeles is hiring a Database Administrator and SQL Developer to advance perioperative analytics through the Perioperative Data Warehouse (PDW). You will design, develop, and maintain the SQL-based data warehouse, including queries, procedures, and documentation, while ensuring data security and system integrity.

Reporting to the Director of Operations and Chief Data Architect, you will collaborate with faculty, researchers, and operational leaders to support research, quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent education/experience
• 2+ years in SQL and related languages/tools
• BI tools including SSRS/SSAS/SSIS/DTS/Tableau
• Relational databases incl. SQL Server/Access/MySQL/PL SQL
• Write reusable/modular code for multiple teams
• Design and create SSIS packages and use most tasks in SSIS
• Define variables/parameters and use in expressions
• Deploy packages via Project deployment and environment parameters
• Spanish? (note: keep language)
• Programming in C#, Python, T-SQL, Reporting Services, DTS/SSIS, Visual Studio, XML, R
• SQL Server/T-SQL, Reporting Services, SharePoint concepts and deployment
• MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Access and email/communication tools
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, communicate clearly
• Strong written/oral communication and presentations
• Ability to analyze complex information and brief management
• Ability to collaborate with supervisor and teammates
• Ability to work with ETL clients and data warehouses
• Negotiation skills and confidentiality awareness
• Master’s degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain UCLA Health’s Perioperative Data Warehouse (PDW)
• Provide database development, technical and analytical support
• Ensure data security, compliance and system integrity
• Collaborate with faculty, researchers, and operational leaders
• Support research, operational and quality improvement initiatives
• Assist in data governance and data integration efforts
• Represent department in cross-functional discussions about data warehousing
