Under limited supervision, manage the development of production employees,safety, production schedule including quality control, protection ofequipment and cost controls. In addition, facilitate employee’ relationsissues including coaching, mentoring and disciplining including performanceevaluations. Provide strong leadership to motivate, guide and inspireemployees to meet the organization’s business objectives with production.
Provides day-to-day leadership to staff including but not limitedto recruiting, selecting, orienting, training and assigning andevaluating work of employees.
Communicates safety compliance issues or training in order foremployees to adhere to facility 5S housekeeping standards,including monitoring compliance issues.
Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achievepositive results in all areas. Works to continuously improve allareas.
Manages departmental performance measures, including visualcontrols and provides regular progress reports to ProductionManagement.
Builds team with Human Resources Department facilitation in therecruiting, interviewing, selecting including promotions ortransfers, including drafting progressive disciplinary actions.
Cross-trains employees verbally and with written work instructionsto sustain a flexible workforce for coverage during absences.
Administers time-keeping functions to track absenteeism; approvestime cards on a bi-weekly basis; investigates employee accidents (1 st initial response).
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration; and five (5)years’ experience in a supervisory role; or, an equivalentcombination of education and experience.
Water industry experience, a plus.
Demonstrated ability to work independently on alternate workshifts, preferred.
Excellent leadership, organization and people skills to motivate,guide, inspire, train, coach, mentor to accomplish departmentalobjectives. Solid ability to resolve moderate to complex employeerelations issues.
Strong knowledge of automated manufacturing methods andunderstanding of workflow processes.
Persuasive written and verbal communication skills and ability toread and interpret documents such as safety rules, proceduremanual, work instructions, operating and maintenance instructionsas well as writing routine reports and e-mail correspondence.
Basic understanding of mathematical concepts such as adding,subtracting, multiplying and dividing in units of measure, usingwhole numbers, common fractions, decimals and millimeters.
Basic to intermediate proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite:Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook as well as other enterprisereporting programs such as ADP or JD Edwards.
Work independently as well as in a small and/or large group andfoster cooperation in a team environment using interpersonalskills.
Bilingual or Multi-lingual in languages frequently used within theNitto Group of Companies employees and/or customers.
Supervisory Certificate, desirable.
Salary $75,000 to $90,000
