The Bureau of Air seeks a Unit Manager for the Clean Air Act Permit Program (CAAPP) Construction Unit in Springfield, Illinois. This role involves planning, directing, and coordinating a large engineering and technical staff in reviewing and issuing permits for air pollution control devices under Title V of the Clean Air Act. The selected candidate will develop permit procedures, implement state and federal air pollution control programs, and interact with EPA, industry, and environmental groups.

Key qualifications:

• Four years of progressively responsible experience in air pollution control permitting
• Four years of experience writing, reviewing, and issuing permits for air emission sources
• Two years of managerial experience in permit writing and air emission sources
• Bachelor's or master's degree in Physical Science, Environmental Science, or Engineering preferred
• Strong leadership and communication skills with ability to manage large technical staff
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass background check
