Job summary

Lane Community College is seeking a part-time Track & Field sprints coach to provide coaching for student-athletes at the Main Campus. The role offers a stipend and requires the incumbent to reside in Oregon during employment.

Responsibilities include pre-season and in-season coaching, training athletes, recruiting, fundraising support, and ensuring compliance with Lane policies and external regulations. A background check is required; First Aid/CPR certification and a valid driver’s license are

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• One (1) year of competition experience in track and field sprints at the collegiate level OR two (2) years of sprint experience at the high school level or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR certification within one month of hire.
• Current and valid driver's license and ability to pass Oregon Motor Pool/Lane Motor Pool driving test within one month of hire.
• Successful applicants must complete a criminal background check and reside in Oregon while employed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in pre-season, in-season, post-season and out-of-season coaching for Track & Field.
• Train and supervise student-athletes; maintain knowledge of track sprint rules and track statistics.
• Support fundraising, recruiting, equipment, facilities, and travel logistics.
• Provide leadership in personal athletic and academic development of student-athletes.
• Develop recruitment strategies to build an eligible Track & Field roster.
• Assist in fundraising to support the Track & Field program.
• Ensure compliance with Lane Community College and regulatory rules.
• Develop and implement training plans and game strategy; coordinate practice schedules.
