Job summary

Linn-Mar Community School District in Marion, Iowa seeks an Assistant Track Coach for sprints to support the athletic program. Two positions are available; high school diploma and coaching experience preferred. Iowa coaching endorsement and CPR/First Aid training are beneficial.

Responsibilities include teaching fundamentals, planning practice, ensuring safety, maintaining records, and promoting a positive program image within the district.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required with experience playing and coaching in applicable sport.
• BA degree with a major or minor in physical education or equivalent hours and courses in coaching theory is preferred.
• Experience in physical education, coaching, first aid, CPR and sports medicine is preferred.
• Iowa Coaching Endorsement required. Valid Iowa teaching license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teaches participants in fundamentals and skills for the sport.
• Assists in planning and scheduling a regular program of practice in season.
• Oversees safety conditions of facilities when students are present.
• Maintains and reports statistics, records, and results of the season as directed by head coach.
• Enforces discipline and sportsmanlike behavior; maintains attendance forms and related paperwork.
• Promotes a positive image of the program and the district.
