Job summary

IAP World Services in McLean, VA, seeks an experienced Sprinkler Technician to inspect, test, and repair water-based fire protection systems in secure, high-reliability environments supporting Defense and IC missions. Qualifications

• NICET certification required for water-based sprinkler systems.
• Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience with water-based sprinkler systems.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 13, 20, 25.
• Experience in Intelligence Community or secure federal facilities.
• Ability to read technical documents and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, maintain, and repair water-based fire protection systems.
• Perform system impairments, restorations, and documentation per IC protocols.
• Read blueprints, schematics, and fire protection drawings.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA standards, local codes, AHJ requirements.
• Prepare detailed inspection reports, deficiency reports, and maintenance records.
• Coordinate with facility managers, engineers, and security personnel in secure environments.
• Support system upgrades, retrofits, and acceptance testing.
• Maintain tools, test equipment, and inventory in accordance with requirements.
• Adhere to safety, security, and confidentiality regulations at IC facilities.
