Job summary

Johnson Controls in Rhode Island is seeking an experienced Inspector to perform routine inspections, testing, service and preventative maintenance on life safety sprinkler products and related equipment. The role requires 4+ years sprinkler experience, RI Electrical License, ability to read blueprints, operate hand tools and multimeters, and lift up to 70 lbs.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of documented experience in sprinkler systems.
• RI Electrical License.
• Experience with wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, fire pumps, and foam systems.
• Experience reading blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs schematics and manuals.
• Experience with hand tools and multimeter usage.
• Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
• Able to work in unusual and difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet.
• Ability to work flexible hours including on-call rotation, nights, and weekends.
• Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
• Strong organizational skills and quick learning ability.

Responsibilities

• Inspect routine inspections, testing, service, and maintenance on life safety product lines.
• Perform routine inspections, testing, servicing and maintenance of life safety product lines and related equipment.
• Accurately discern and document deficiencies found during an inspection.
• Complete Service Acknowledgement/inspections with proper coding.
• Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule.
• Make minor repairs and programming changes to systems inspected.
• Carry/move equipment up to 70 lbs.
• Assist foreman in installation of sprinkler systems.
• Work in ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment.
• Work hours include on-call rotation, nights, and weekends.
