Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a sprinkler installer/foreman in Chantilly, VA to install wet, dry, pre‑action, and deluge sprinkler systems and to oversee small crews on commercial and industrial projects.

You will ensure safety, complete documentation, and provide guidance to apprentices. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 3+ years in fire sprinkler installation, blueprint reading ability, strong communication and teamwork, and physical stamina to perform labor as needed.

Responsibilities

• Install wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems as foreman or lead installer.
• Oversee small crews and ensure work is performed safely and neatly.
• Maintain documentation for work performed and comply with safety policies and procedures.
• Provide verbal and written instructions to apprentices and team members.
• Transport and maneuver equipment and tools up to 70 lbs.
• Perform physical labor in challenging positions (climbing ladders, scaffolding, high lift).
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and adaptability.

What you will do

Perform the installation of fire protection piping, valves and accessories for commercial and industrial application. Must be able to work alternative shifts or weekends to meet customer and/or job requirements. Must perform all duties in a safe and professional manner.

How you will do it

• As sprinkler installer/foreman, you will efficiently and neatly perform the installation of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems.
• You will oversee small crews.
• You will maintain proper documentation for work performed and must adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
• In this position you will be provided verbal and written instructions, as well as provide verbal and written instructions to apprentices.
• Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 70lbs.
• Capable of performing physical labor; perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• You will have a positive attitude and the ability to adapt quickly.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $29-41 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
