Alloy Enterprises seeks an experienced inspector to perform routine inspections, testing, and maintenance on electrical, sprinkler and suppression life-safety systems. You will document deficiencies, communicate clearly, and represent the company professionally.

You will follow a structured schedule, complete tasks on time, assist with installation work when needed, and travel to sites while adhering to safety guidelines and industry standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Mechanical background with ability to read blueprints and diagrams.
  • Able to obtain licenses as required by codes.
  • Experience with hand tools and multi-meters is preferred.
  • Physical ability to lift 50–70 lbs and perform demanding tasks.
  • Willing to work nights, weekends, and travel as needed.
  • Pass pre-employment background and drug test.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on electrical, sprinkler, or suppression systems.
  • Document deficiencies clearly and accurately.

Job description

What you will do:

Inspectors are responsible for conducting routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on Electrical, Sprinkler or Suppression life safety product lines as well as similar competitive manufacturers’ product lines

How you will do it:
  • Responsible for meeting customer expectations while performing quality inspections

  • Accurately discern and document deficiencies found during an inspection

  • Professionally represent the company at all times

  • Complete Service Acknowledgement/inspections with proper coding through communicating devices, such as laptop computers, smartphones, and/or hardcopy

  • Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule

  • Make minor repairs and programming changes to systems being inspected.

  • Complete assigned inspections on time

  • Perform other duties as directed

  • Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 70lbs and be capable of performing physical labor

  • Assist foreman in the installation of wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems

  • Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment

  • Be enrolled in Grinnell's approved Apprenticeship Program, maintaining all requirements of the Apprenticeship Standards

  • Have a positive attitude and the ability to learn quickly

What we look for:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Mechanical background

  • Able to obtain and retain any licenses that are required by National, State and Local codes.

  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, programs schematics and operational/product manuals.

  • Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage.

  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.

  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult position such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.

  • Ability to work flexible hours including on-call rotation, nights, and weekends to meet customer requirements.

  • Willing to travel out of town.

  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.

  • Ability to adhere to, implement, and follow safety guidelines and procedures at all times.

  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and an ability to learn quickly.

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.

  • Able to pass a pre-employment background and drug test.

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $20.02-$25.11 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
