Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking a Sprinkler Helper to learn and assist with the installation and service of all forms of fire sprinkler systems and services. This role offers a path into the fire and life safety industry, with on-the-job training and safety at the core of daily activities.

You will support technicians, read blueprints, and help with overhead sprinkler systems, piping, and job-site coordination.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willing to enroll in Sprinkler Fitter apprentice program.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and project schedules.

Responsibilities

• Assist Sprinkler Service Technicians with installation and service of overhead sprinkler systems, fire pumps, standpipes and hose systems.
• Attend weekly job site safety meetings and follow safety procedures.
• Learn to read blueprints and install prefabricated sprinkler piping.

THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELLSciens Building Solutions is seeking a Sprinkler Helper to learn and assist with the installation and service of all forms of fire sprinkler systems and services. This is a key position for our growing team and requires someone who is interested in learning the fire sprinkler trade and a desire to start a career in the exciting and sustainable fire/life safety industry.WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (and doing well)!Assist Sprinkler Service Technicians with coordination and installation of overhead sprinkler systems, fire pumps, standpipes, and hose systems.Attend and participate in weekly job site safety meetings.Learn and assist in reading and interpreting blueprints, to help install prefabricated fire sprinkler piping.Occasionally communicate with various contractors and trades to ensure projects stay on time and on budget.Comply with industry standard procedures and Sciens safety programs/policies.WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOUHigh school diploma or equivalent.Desire to enroll in Sprinkler Fitter apprentice program and grow within the Fire and Life Safety industry.Self-starter; able to work independently but also demonstrate the ability to be a team player with a can-do attitude.Ability to use basic hand tools.Willing to learn how to read and comprehend blueprints, specifications, and project schedules.Willing to learn how to thread and groove pipe.Willing to travel to local job site locations.Be physically fit to perform the demanding work of the trade, including frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds, maximum occasional lifting up to 50 pounds; able to work from heights and climb ladders; standing and walking for most of the workday.Able to obtain OSHA 10 CertificationsAbility to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency.Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation.WHAT WE’RE BRINGING TO THE TABLECompetitive salary based on qualifications.Paid time off plan and holidays.401(k) matching.Short term and long-term disability.Medical, dental, and vision plans with options.Life insurance.Professional career development opportunities.Tuition reimbursement.$22-$26 based on experience.
