Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions in California is hiring an experienced Fire Sprinkler Fitter to install and retrofit NFPA-based sprinkler systems. You will read blueprints, coordinate with designers, project managers, and general contractors, and ensure work meets code and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has at least two years in Fire and Life Safety, is enrolled in a Sprinkler Apprentice Program, and can travel occasionally.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two years of experience in Fire and Life Safety.
• Active enrollment in Sprinkler Apprentice Program.
• Knowledge of wet, dry, and pre-action systems with backflows and fire pumps.
• Ability to read and install from fire system design drawings and zoning.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints to install pre-fabricated sprinkler piping.
• Install new, retrofits, and tenant improvement projects.
• Cut, thread, and groove pipe with relevant tools.
• Coordinate with onsite contractors to resolve field conflicts.
• Assist with job scheduling and progress with quality focus.
• Modify designs per code compliance.
• Provide guidance to other field installers.
• Follow safety programs and procedures.
