Job summary

A fire protection services company in Texas is seeking an entry-level trainee to assist with installing and testing fire sprinkler systems. The selected candidate will work closely with a Foreman to learn the mechanics of sprinkler systems and perform routine checks. Strong communication skills and the ability to learn and apply sprinkler design prints are essential. The role may involve working in difficult positions, including climbing ladders. This is a full-time position with overtime as needed.

Job description

Description

This entry level position is considered a trainee who is learning the mechanics of fire sprinkler system. This position will assist with installing Sprinkler Systems & the performance of routine testing under direct supervision. This position installs and tests sprinkler systems under the close guidance of a Foreman. Position receives guidance and direction regarding day-to-day work tasks from a Foreman.

Requirements
  • Channel locks & tape measure is required
  • Be available to support technicians
  • Must have the ability to learn to read a set of Sprinkler Design prints and install accordingly
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Cut, thread, groove, join, and secure piping using proper tools and techniques.
  • Must be able to perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, high lift equipment, working in ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • After-hours overtime and weekend work as needed based on customer demands
  • Valid Driver’s license
  • Successful completion of a drug test and pre-employment background screening is required. MVR checks are required for all driving positions.
