Sobieski Life Safety in Lancaster, PA, is seeking a Sprinkler Foreman to supervise field crews, ensure safety, and deliver work on time and within budget.

The role requires coordinating labor, materials, and equipment, enforcing company standards, reading toolbox talks, and maintaining paperwork and site documentation.

Qualified candidates will have 8+ years in fire sprinkler fitting, relevant licenses, and a track record supervising commercial projects.

Qualifications

• 8+ years verifiable Fire Sprinkler Fitter experience.
• Ability to schedule personnel and materials with Superintendent to determine job priorities.
• Work within local and state codes with precise limits or standards of accuracy.
• Must pass a drug screen and background check; clean driving record.
• Experience with construction documentation and reporting.
• Journeyman Fire Sprinkler License or equivalent training; NICET Level 2/3; Fire Pump and Backflow certifications.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate field activities of assigned craft workers. Enforce safety regulations and read toolbox talks to all job site employees.
• Train new workers in the use of equipment and tools.
• Conduct site-specific safety orientations for employees/subcontractors.
• Interpret completed systems to determine conformance to specifications.
• Enforce company policies with workers and ensure compliance with standards.
• Monitor project schedules to ensure timely completion and manage sequences with Project Manager/Superintendents.
• Maintain weekly labor performance reports and all paperwork including look-ahead schedules and timesheets.
• Maintain jobsite security and keep the site organized; ensure tools are in good working order.
• Prepare final take-off of materials and coordinate shutdowns or tie-ins to existing systems.
• Build rapport with customers and teams to influence purchasing, scheduling, and completion.
• Analyze and resolve work problems and communicate progress and deviations to the Project Manager.

Job Summary

The Sprinkler Foreman Supervises and coordinates all activities of assigned craft workers. Responsible for making sure work is completed on time and within budget while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate field activities of assigned craft workers. Enforce safety regulations. Read Toolbox talks enthusiastically to all job site employees. Establish and monitor job requirements to determine field labor, materials, tools and equipment requirements.
• Training of new workers in the use of equipment and tools.
• Conduct site specific safety orientation for employees/subcontractors.
• Interpret completed systems to determine conformance to specifications.
• Enforce company policies with workers and assure workers’ compliance with company standards.
• Monitor project schedules to ensure timely completion of work. Establish and adjust work sequences for review with the Project Manager and Superintendents.
• Maintain weekly labor performance reports for review with Project Manager/Superintendent.
• Maintain timely completion of all paperwork: One-week and five-week look ahead schedules, timesheets, daily orders, tool requests and any delivery/packing slips.
• Maintain jobsite security including locking up equipment, tools, gang box and doors/windows. Maintain a clean and organized job site appearance. Assure all gang boxes and job containers are neat and orderly. Assure tools are in good working order.
• Maintain as-built sketches on project drawings.
• Prepare final take-off of material.
• Schedule any shutdowns and tie-ins to existing systems.
• Build rapport and productive working relationships with customers, managers, supervisors and workers in order to influence decisions for purchasing scheduling, installations and work completion.
• Analyze and resolve work problems.
• Report progress, estimate deviations and customer complaints to immediate Project Manager.
• Assume responsibility for delivery of all materials and equipment at the job site, including counting and verifying shipments and maintaining a log of back orders.

Qualifications and education requirements

• At least 8 years’ verifiable Fire Sprinkler Fitter experience.
• Demonstrated ability to accurately determine job priorities by scheduling personnel and materials with Superintendent.
• Work within local and state codes with precise limits or standards of accuracy.
• OSHA 30 Certified
• Must have a clean driving record, be able to pass a drug screen and pass a background check.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office Suite, file management, Internet). Experience using an iPad.
• Journeyman Fire Sprinkler License or equivalent training
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Foreman on Commercial Sites
• NICET Level 2 or 3 certification
• Fire Pump Certification
• Backflow Certification
