Job summary

Gettysburg Area High School seeks a dedicated Spring Tennis Assistant Coach to support the Varsity Head Coach in developing players’ skills and fostering teamwork for a positive student-athlete environment.

This seasonal, part-time role requires availability in the spring season afternoons, evenings, and weekends, with responsibilities spanning practice planning, game accompaniment, training duties, equipment management, and adherence to GASD policies and PIAA regulations.

Qualifications

• Experience playing or coaching tennis at high school or college level preferred.
• Strong knowledge of tennis rules, strategies, and techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and staff.
• Ability to motivate student-athletes and foster a positive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist Varsity Head Coach in planning and conducting practice sessions.
• Accompany teams on away meets and games.
• Assist in training duties as necessary.
• Share in responsibilities as requested by head coach and head assistant coach.
• Support the philosophy of the Varsity Head Coach.
• Assist in supervision of the locker room and student behavior until they leave.
• Assist in care, management, and inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Assist in scouting for the Varsity Head Coach.
