Job summary

The School District of Milton is seeking applicants for a Spring Play Director at Milton High School. The position begins as soon as possible and works closely with the Performing Arts Center Manager, and parent and community volunteers to coordinate the Spring full-length play (April 2027).

Responsibilities include show selection, costuming, sets, auditions, rehearsals and publicity; requires organizing and overseeing production elements while maintaining a positive environment for students.

The School District of Milton is seeking applicants for a Spring Play Director at Milton High School. The position will begin as soon as possible and work closely with the Performing Arts Center Manager, and parent and community volunteers to coordinate the Spring full-length play (April 2027). In addition to the stage direction, this position is responsible for organizing aspects of the production, including, but not limited to show selection, costuming, sets, auditions, rehearsals and advertisements/publicity for the production.

Qualifications

The School District of Milton is seeking an individual who can create a positive experience for many different students, including actors/performers, orchestra members, stage crew, lighting/sound crew, and tech crew. This person should have some background (either personal or professional) in theatre productions using licensed scripts. Candidates should be highly organized, detail-oriented, flexible, have strong communication skill, and be able to juggle multiple tasks throughout the months leading up to the musical. A successful candidate will be able to: delegate tasks, coordinate multiple components of the production, set and meet deadlines, and create a positive, respectful environment for students.
