Job summary

Moog Inc. is seeking an Intern in Mechanical Analysis Engineering to assist the Mechanical Analysis team within our Space & Defense Group.

The position is onsite in Buffalo, NY, with potential relocation to Elma, NY, and offers hands-on exposure to FEA, stress, thermal, CFD analyses, and data reporting. You must be enrolled in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with a GPA of 3.0 or higher and be willing to relocate for the internship, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and/or other relevant Engineering Bachelor's or Master's Degree program, at an accredited university.
• GPA of at least 3.0; exact GPA requirement will be specified by department.
• This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
• Ability to relocate for the duration of the internship.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the preparation and execution of key Mechanical Analysis engineering tasks.
• Provide technical support to SDG groups across the US.
• Work experience may include finite element analysis (FEA), finite difference analysis, stress analysis, deflection analysis, thermal analysis, fatigue analysis, fracture analyses, magnetics analysis, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), transient flow analysis, general material characteristics, 3-D modeling, data reporting, and/or design and development modifications based on the student's educational discipline.
• Validate conceptual problem solutions by performing trade studies and analyses.
• Advise mechanical tests and correlate analytical models to test results.
• Operate as a multidisciplinary member of a team of creative, independent individuals.
• Represent Moog in a manner consistent with its technical and professional reputation.
