Job summary

Moog Inc. in Buffalo, NY invites an Intern, Mechanical Analysis Engineering to join the Space & Defense Group. You will contribute to the preparation and execution of key Mechanical Analysis tasks and provide technical support across US SDG teams, working onsite at Elma, NY during the internship.

You will encounter analyses spanning FEA, CFD, stress, thermal and material studies, with opportunities to report findings, influence test programs, and grow in a collaborative, professional environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and/or other relevant Engineering Bachelor's or Master's Degree program.
• GPA of at least 3.0; exact GPA requirement will be specified by department.
• This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
• Ability to relocate for the duration of the internship.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the preparation and execution of key Mechanical Analysis engineering tasks at Moog.
• Provide technical support to SDG groups across the US, as needed.
• Work experience may include finite element analysis (FEA), finite difference analysis, stress analysis, deflection analysis, thermal analysis, fatigue analysis, fracture analyses, magnetics analysis, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), transient flow analysis, general material characteristics, 3-D modeling, data reporting, and/or design and development modifications based on the student's educational discipline.
• Validate conceptual problem solutions by performing trade studies and analyses.
• Advise mechanical tests and correlate analytical models to test results.
• Operate as a multidisciplinary member of a team of creative, independent individuals.
• Represent Moog in a manner consistent with its technical and professional reputation.

The Mechanical Analysis team within our Space & Defense Group is seeking a spring block intern. The intern will have an onsite work schedule in Elma, NY.

To be considered for this role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

• Enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and/or other relevant Engineering Bachelor's or Master's Degree program, at an accredited university.

• GPA of at least 3.0; exact GPA requirement will be specified by department.

• This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.

• Ability to relocate for the duration of the internship.

Salary Range Transparency

Buffalo, NY $25.50-$31.00 Hourly
