Job summary

Genentech is seeking a Spring Intern for Cell Line Development Automation in South San Francisco, onsite. The 6-month, full-time program includes a paid stipend and hands-on work on automated CLD workflows within a cross-functional team.

You will test, develop, run, and document automated workflows, and you will present results to the team. Candidates should be pursuing or holding a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in a relevant life sciences or engineering field.

Qualifications

• You have coursework or hands-on experience in a laboratory or life sciences discipline.
• You can troubleshoot an experiment that did not work, and you speak up when a procedure looks inefficient.
• You can read and write Python, and you are comfortable working with AI-assisted coding tools.

Responsibilities

• Test proof-of-concept workflows to find where automation gives the most benefit.
• Develop automated methods for the workflows you select.
• Run those methods and evaluate them against the current manual approach.
• Document the methods so others on the team can run them.
• Implement the validated workflow into routine use and present your results to the team.
