Job summary

Genentech in South San Francisco is offering a 6‑month, full‑time Spring Intern position in Pharmaceutical Technical Development – Bioassay. The role provides hands‑on experience designing and executing assays, analyzing data, and presenting findings with scientists across PTD and Bioassay teams.

You will work on developing cell‑based potency methods, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support process development, characterization, and product quality control.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing or have attained an Associate's Degree, Bachelor's, Master's or PhD.
• Majors preferred include Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Microbiology, Chemical/Biomedical/ Bioengineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Chemistry, Biophysics.
• Detail-oriented, enthusiastic, and self-directed individuals who can tackle complex scientific challenges in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, optimize and analyze biochemical/immunochemical and/or cell-based assays.
• Summarize and present data; participate in group meetings and project teams.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop cell-based potency methods for biologics.
