Job summary

Allegion is seeking an Industrial Design Spring Co-op to join our Carmel, IN team. You will support our internal industrial design group, contributing to security product concepts for home, bike, institutional and commercial applications.

The role requires actively pursuing an industrial design degree, strong sketching, CAD and rendering skills (Creo and Keyshot a plus), and the ability to collaborate across functions.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a degree in industrial design from an accredited school.
• Ability to create product concepts through sketching and physical mock-ups.
• Working knowledge of Adobe suite software.
• CAD models and renderings; Creo and Keyshot are a plus.
• Basic understanding of mechanical construction, manufacturing, materials and processes.
• The ability to present ideas, receive feedback, and alter designs accordingly.
• The ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with peers.
• The ability to manage time and work on multiple projects.
• Active listening and creative problem solving.
• Attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
• Interest in aesthetics and styling related to architecture.
• Ability to collaborate with functions outside Industrial Design.

Responsibilities

• Support projects with designers and provide a vision of future security concepts.
• Engage in design research, concept creation, sketching, CAD modeling, rendering and prototyping.
• Work on UI/UX, ergonomics, product displays and promotional activities.
• Participate in design reviews, present ideas and manage deliverables.
• Collaborate with other departments and external customers as needed.
