Job summary

Allegion is seeking an Industrial Design Co-op in Carmel, IN to support design teams across home, bike, and commercial products. You will assist with research, concept creation, CAD modeling, rendering and prototype work, while gaining exposure to UI/UX, ergonomics, and product displays.

Ideal candidates are pursuing an industrial design degree, skilled in sketching, Adobe Creative Suite, and collaborating in cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Actively pursuing a degree in industrial design from an accredited school.
• Ability to create product concepts through sketching and physical mock-ups.
• Working knowledge of Adobe suite software.
• Ability to create CAD models and renderings (Creo/Keyshot a plus).
• Basic understanding of mechanical construction, materials and processes.
• The ability to present ideas, receive constructive feedback, and alter designs accordingly.
• The ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with peers.
• Ability to manage time and work on multiple projects.
• Active listening and creative problem solving.
• A commitment to excellence and strong attention to detail.
• Interest and enthusiasm for aesthetics and styling related to architecture.

Responsibilities

• Support design research and concept creation for new products.
• Create CAD models, renderings and physical prototypes.

• Present ideas in design reviews and iterate based on feedback.
• Develop product displays and UI/UX concepts.
