Job summary

City Parks Foundation is seeking a Part-Time Educator to deliver the Learning Gardens school-day program in NYC classrooms and garden sites, February through May.

You will implement established curricula with hands-on activities, support elementary and middle school learners, and contribute to curriculum development while maintaining education resources. You may travel between garden sites via public transit as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
• Two years of teaching experience with outdoor and experiential learning.
• Ability to instruct diverse learners in elementary and middle school.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Google Drive and Office apps.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Learning Gardens school-day curriculum in classrooms and gardens February–May.
• Lead hands-on activities including gardening, animal handling, and food preparation.
• Contribute feedback to shape curricula and maintain education resources.
• Support record-keeping, reporting, and general administrative tasks.
