Job summary

The New York Botanical Garden invites applications for the Assistant Educator, Edible Academy School Programs. This role supports development, logistics, and facilitation of school programs with garden-based lessons for Pre K–5th grade, including natural, social, culinary sciences, math, and English.

You will collaborate with Garden Educators to deliver four garden workshops in the 2026-2027 school year and one visit in Winter 2027.

Qualifications

• Experience in garden-based education or teaching is preferred.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities required.
• Strong foundational knowledge in natural sciences is desirable.
• Experience working with groups of children in classroom and outdoor settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development, logistics, and facilitation of Edible Academy school programs.
• Support four garden workshops for Pre K–5th grade during the 2026-2027 school year.
• Support one visit garden workshop during Winter 2027.
• Help prepare curriculum materials and classroom/garden setup for workshops.
