Job summary

The Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) invites applications for its Communications Program, Spring Internship in Washington, DC. Interns will support the External Relations team with communications, media outreach, and digital engagement while learning about bipartisan policy work.

Spring interns work 18 to 20 hours per week and receive a $3,000 stipend, paid in two installments. The program runs January 26, 2027, to April 1, 2027, with in-office days Tue-Thu and optional remote work on Mon and Fri.

Qualifications

• Undergrad (rising juniors and above) or graduate students
• Strong interest in public policy, politics, communications, and/or nonprofit management
• Excellent written and verbal communication; strong editing ability
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-up skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; database or design software desirable
• Creative, collaborative, and able to work in a fast-paced team environment

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and reporting on earned media coverage
• Maintaining and building targeted press lists
• Conducting industry, organizational, and media research and analysis
• Drafting press releases, media pitches, event language, talking points, and social media content
• Designing and creating digital materials for events and social media campaigns
• Support from undergraduate/graduate students or recent graduates
• Non-U.S. citizens with valid work permit or visa; no visa sponsorship offered
