This part‑time internship is scheduled January–May 2027, with 20–25 hours per week and occasional evenings or weekends for events.

You will help execute communications strategies, create social content (Instagram reels, stories), draft posts, and assist with the blog

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in college and pursuing a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
• Experience with social media platforms in a professional setting.

Responsibilities

• Execute communications strategies for the department.
• Create social media content (Instagram reels, stories) to enhance engagement.
• Draft posts for the City of Fishers' social media accounts.
• Research, interview, and author blog posts for the City’s blog.
• Assist with content buildout of the City’s website.
• Support media relations with press materials and interviews.
• Collaborate with local businesses and nonprofits on engagement initiatives.
