Job summary

Sanofi in Waltham, MA seeks a Spring Co-op for the Process and CMC Data Science team. You will develop first-principle, ML, and hybrid models for critical unit operations in mRNA process development, using CFD, Molecular Dynamics, and quantum chemistry simulations.

Qualifications

Pursuing a Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computational Science, Biomedical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
Must be enrolled in accredited college/university during the co-op.
Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in future.
Must relocate to the Waltham office and work 40 hours/week, Mon-Fri.

Responsibilities

Develop and validate first-principle, ML, and hybrid models for drug-product unit operations in collaboration with supervisor and cross-functional teams.
Apply CFD, Molecular Dynamics, and Quantum Chemistry simulations to characterize mixing and nanoparticle formation in LNP formulation.
Investigate parameter impacts on CQAs and quantify uncertainties using statistical methods.
Design and execute DoE for model selection, parameter estimation, and process optimization.
Analyze data to generate actionable insights for process development decisions.
Document workflows, results, and recommendations in technical reports and presentations.
