Job summary

Sanofi Group in Waltham, MA invites a Spring Co-op in Process and CMC Data Science for a 6-month program. You will work within the Data and Computational Science team on first-principle, ML, and hybrid models for drug-product unit operations related to mRNA processes.

You will gain hands-on experience with mRNA technology, LNP formulation, and pharmacological manufacturing while collaborating with mentors and cross-functional teams to accelerate process development.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computational Science, Biomedical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
• Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship at time of application or in the future.
• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university for duration of co-op/internship.
• Must be able to relocate to the office and work 40hrs/week, Mon-Fri for full duration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and validate first-principle, ML, and hybrid models for drug-product unit operations.
• Apply CFD, Molecular Dynamics, and Quantum Chemistry simulations to characterize mixing, nanoparticle formation, or interactions.
• Investigate impact of process parameters on CQAs and quantify uncertainties.
• Design and execute DoE for model selection, parameter estimation, and optimization.
• Analyze experimental and simulation data to generate actionable insights for process development.
• Document modeling workflows, results, and recommendations in reports and presentations.
