Job summary

Cerity Partners is seeking a Tax Prep Intern to join our team for a paid, part-time internship from January to mid-April (25–30 hours/week). You will assist in preparing federal, state, and local returns and gain hands-on experience in a fast-growing national RIA.

Ideal candidates are undergraduates majoring in Finance or Accounting with a minimum 3.2 GPA, proficient in Microsoft Office, and eager to collaborate with Tax Advisors and Administrators in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an undergraduate program with a 3.2 GPA minimum.
• Majoring in Finance, Accounting, or related business degree.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Applications.
• Active campus involvement or professional work experience.
• Identify with Cerity Partner’s mission and values.
• Strong collaboration, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of federal, state, and local individual and business income tax returns in UltraTax CS (tax preparation software).
• Create workpapers in Engagement Manager (workpaper organization/preparation software) and SurePrep (workpaper organization/preparation software) that effectively tell the story of how projects were prepared.
• Utilize FirmFlow (CRM/project management) and GoFileRoom (document storage) to maintain an accurate status of workflows.
• Research and analyze a wide range of tax issues.
• Other duties as requested by Tax Advisors and Tax Administrators.

This is a paid internship program (25-30 hours per week January to Mid-April) and is designed to provide college students with an opportunity to enhance their formal education with a hands-on, career-related experience. This role is also ideal for someone looking for a part-time seasonal position in the financial industry at a nationally recognized registered investment advisory.

Required Qualifications:
