Job summary

Cerity Partners is seeking a Tax Prep Intern to join our tax team. This paid internship runs 25-30 hours per week from January to mid-April, ideal for a college student seeking hands-on experience in tax preparation and wealth management services.

Responsibilities include preparing federal, state, and local tax returns using UltraTax CS, creating workpapers with Engagement Manager and SurePrep, and maintaining workflows with FirmFlow and GoFileRoom. Strong GPA and Excel/Adobe skills are required.

Qualifications

• Be enrolled in an undergraduate program with a minimum 3.2 GPA.
• Majoring in Finance, Accounting, or related business degree.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Applications.
• Active involvement in campus organizations or professional work experience.

Job description

We are seeking a team player with a positive attitude and the highest level of personal integrity to join our tax team as a Tax Prep Intern. This is a paid internship program (25-30 hours per week January to Mid-April) and is designed to provide college students with an opportunity to enhance their formal education with a hands-on, career-related experience. This role is also ideal for someone looking for a part-time seasonal position in the financial industry at a nationally recognized registered investment advisory.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of federal, state, and local individual and business income tax returns in UltraTax CS (tax preparation software)
• Create workpapers in Engagement Manager (workpaper organization/preparation software) and SurePrep (workpaper organization/preparation software) that effectively tell the story of how projects were prepared
• Utilize FirmFlow (CRM/project management) and GoFileRoom (document storage) to maintain an accurate status of workflows
• Research and analyze a wide range of tax issues
• Other duties as requested by Tax Advisors and Tax Administrators

Required Qualifications:

• Be enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited university with a minimum 3.2 GPA
• Majoring in Finance, Accounting, or related business degree
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Applications
• Actively participating in campus organizations, preferably within a leadership role, and/or professional work experience
