Job summary

TECO Energy invites energetic college students to join the Spring 2027 Student Internship in Customer Experience Research and Strategy in Tampa, FL. This part-time Co‑op/internship supports qualitative and quantitative studies, journey mapping, and data visualization via Power BI to improve customer experience and business strategy.

You will work 20–30 hours weekly in a normal office setting, collaborating with multiple teams while gaining mentorship and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• The successful applicant should be enrolled in an accredited university as a college undergraduate or a graduate level post-secondary educational program in a related discipline.
• To qualify as a co-op student, enrollment in the university’s co-op program (proof of enrollment required); if not eligible for co-op program (or program unavailable), the student will be considered an intern.
• Bachelor level degree seeking student.
• Preferred/Related Discipline: Communications, Social Sciences, Marketing, Public Health, Statistics.

Responsibilities

• General research tasks – assist with participant recruitment, data input, collecting data (qualitative and quantitative), etc.
• General strategy tasks – assist with journey mapping initiatives, data input and monitoring, etc.
• Power BI and Power App – build dashboards, data visualizations, applications, etc.

Storm Duty Requirements

Tampa Electric and its sister companies serve a role in providing critical services to our community during an emergency. Team members are required to participate in the response/recovery activities related to emergencies/disasters to maintain service to our Tampa Electric customers. Team members are required to work in their normal job duties or other assigned activities. Proper compensation will be made in accordance with the company's rules and procedures.

Position Summary/Details:

This position supports the Customer Experience Research and Strategy departments. This role will support qualitative and quantitative research studies to understand and measure customer satisfaction, identify customer behaviors and preferences, and develop raw data into actionable insights to improve customer experience and business strategy. Customer Experience Strategy involves developing and implementing strategic planning frameworks, mapping and analyzing customer journeys to enhance user experience, and designing Power BI dashboards to support data-driven decision‑making. Additionally, this role requires collaboration with teams to improve both customer and employee experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
