Job summary

Genentech, Inc. in South San Francisco is seeking a Spring Intern for Pharmaceutical Technical Development (Laboratory) to work on capillary electrophoresis (CE)-based projects within the Analytical Development group.

The Intensive 6-month, full-time internship (40 hours/week) starts January 2027 and includes a stipend based on location. You will collaborate with scientists, present findings to senior leaders, and participate in professional development activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or pursuing Master's degree.
• Majors include Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Biophysics or related disciplines.
• Detail-oriented, enthusiastic, and self-directed with strong communication and collaboration.
• Interest in advanced separation techniques like CE-SDS.

Responsibilities

• Design, execute, and analyze wet-lab experiments with scientists, documenting rigorously and communicating findings to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Evaluate and implement next-generation analytical technologies to inform capital decisions and implementation pathways.
• Collaborate across R&D and potential GMP testing environments to retire legacy dye-labeling methods.
