Job summary

The Haskell Company in Frisco, TX invites a Mechanical Engineering Packaging Co-op to join our team. You will participate in 2- or 3-term rotations, gaining real project experience from design to manufacturing on consumer-brand packaging projects.

As a co-op, you will work on bid packages, drawings, specifications, and database tasks while supporting schedule tracking and project reporting. Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD (AutoCAD/In Inventor/Revit) and strong time management are required.

Qualifications

• Engineering co-op or recent graduate in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Experience in an engineering support position is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare bid and drawing packages and specifications.
• Maintain databases and assist in project scheduling and reporting.
• Design packaging lines in AutoCAD, Inventor, and Revit.
• Develop flow sheets and packaging speed matrices.
• Work with complex automated packaging machinery.

Our Packaging team leads all aspects of the development process, from design to manufacturing to project management. Co-ops are given real-life responsibilities through involvement in various activities, initiatives, and exciting assignments with brand name clients. Packaging team co-ops will have a chance to interact with our clients at their manufacturing facilities. The projects vary in complexity and provide good exposure to a wide range of packaging materials and technologies.

Job Responsibilities:

• Bid packages

Education/Experience:

• Engineering Co-Op or Non-engineering College Graduate, preferable in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience in an engineering support position preferred

Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications:

• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Packaging or similar engineering
• Excellent computer skills, including 2D and 3D CAD
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to adjust to changing timelines while meeting deadlines
• Excellent time management skills
• Excellent interpersonal team skills

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
