Job summary

Aalo Atomics is seeking a Spring 2027 Field Engineering Intern to join the Field Operations team in Austin, TX. Over a 12‑ to 16‑week term you will support manufacturing, installation, maintenance, and operation of Aalo projects, gaining daily mentorship on the shop floor and in field operations.

You will travel on-site, collaborate with design engineers and manufacturing, and contribute to tasks across research, logistics, and field support while developing hands-on engineering experience in a

Qualifications

• Growth mindset and positive attitude.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering (or closely related field).
• Air travel compliant form of ID and valid Driver's License.
• Physically fit for duty – lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods while wearing PPE.
• Able to work full-time, on-site in Austin, TX, for at least 12 consecutive weeks.
• Able to travel to out-of-state locations in the continental U.S. for up to two weeks at a time.
• Must provide housing and daily transportation to the Austin facility; on-site parking available.
• Some tasks involve standing, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 25lbs while wearing PPE.
• Basic familiarity with powered and manual tools.

About the role

Join our Field Operations team in Austin as we support the manufacturing, installation, maintenance, and operation of all Aalo projects. Over a 12 ‑ to 16 ‑ week term you will work with multiple other teams to support the upcoming Aalo-0 and Aalo-X projects while gaining daily mentorship on the shop ‑ floor as well as field operations experience.

• Able to work full‑time, on‑site in AustinTX, for at least 12 consecutive weeks.
• Able to Travel (at Aalo’s expense) to out of state locations in the continental U.S. for up to two weeks at a time.

Preferred Qualifications

• GPA of 3.4+.
• Hands‑on engineering experience (course projects, research, internships, student shop, or personal builds).
• Hands on experience with power tools and heavy equipment operation.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technicians in a fast‑paced shop environment.
