Job summary

Ryan & Wetmore, PC is seeking Accounting Interns for Spring 2027 (January–April) at our Bethesda MD, Vienna VA, and Frederick MD offices. Interns work ~20 hours per week as part-time staff on engagements in tax, attest, and accounting for diverse clients.

You'll gain hands-on experience developing expertise in tax strategy, audit and assurance, and client accounting services while supporting the team across multiple industries.

Qualifications

• , Pursuing an Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics with anticipated graduation May 2028
• , Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• , Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with firm leadership and clients
• , Strong organization and ability to manage multiple projects to deadlines

Responsibilities

• Perform audit procedures over cash, A/R, inventories, property & equipment, prepaid, A/P, accrued expenses, debt and income statement accounts
• Review accounting transactions for GAAP application
• Prepare financial statement footnotes and internal control observations
• Research fundamental issues using online tools
• Meet client service expectations by adhering to budgets, communicating effectively, and delivering high-quality service
• Take on duties as assigned by supervisors and gain understanding of firm policies and professional standards
• Demonstrate professionalism and represent the firm positively to clients
