Job summary

Phoenix Insulation is seeking a Spray Foam Technician to join our Bondville, IL team. You will apply open-cell and closed-cell spray foam insulation across residential, multi-family, and commercial projects, ensuring consistent thickness and quality.

Responsibilities

• Apply spray foam insulation in residential and commercial buildings with consistent thickness and quality.
• Prepare job sites, including masking and protection of surfaces.
• Set up, operate, and maintain spray foam rigs and hoses safely and efficiently.
• Monitor material temperatures, pressures, and ratios for proper yield and cure.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders.
• Inspect completed work for quality and code compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply open-cell and closed-cell spray foam insulation in residential and commercial buildings, ensuring consistent thickness, coverage, and quality.
• Prepare job sites, including masking, surface preparation, and protection of adjacent surfaces and finishes.
• Set up, operate, and maintain spray foam rigs, proportioners, hoses, and spray guns safely and efficiently.
• Monitor material temperatures, pressures, and ratios to ensure proper yield and cure.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality and adherence to building codes and project standards.
• Trim, scrape, and remove overspray and excess foam.
• Work with project managers, contractors, and construction teams to ensure proper insulation placement and compliance with specifications.
• Perform routine equipment cleaning, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Load, unload, and transport materials and equipment to and from job sites.
• Maintain clean and organized job sites and follow all safety protocols.

Working Conditions

• Work in all weather conditions.
• Work in a variety of environments, including outdoor and indoor job sites.
• Perform tasks at heights such as attics, ladders, scaffolding, and commercial ceilings.
• Enter tight or confined spaces, such as crawl spaces and mechanical rooms.
• Lift and carry materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

Required:

• Hands-on experience in construction, remodeling, or insulation installation.
• Ability to safely work in varied physical conditions, including heights and confined spaces.
• Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
• Ability to accurately read measurements and follow installation specifications.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver's license and clean MVR.

Preferred:

• Experience applying open-cell or closed-cell spray foam.
• Experience operating and maintaining spray foam rigs and proportioning equipment.
• Familiarity with residential and commercial construction practices.
• OSHA safety knowledge or willingness to follow company safety procedures.
