Lake Air Products is seeking a 1st & 2nd shift Spot Welder with setup experience for our Roseville, MN facility. This role involves sheet metal fabrication, welding, and meeting tight quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include operating spot weld equipment, setting electrodes, and inspecting welds with precision tools to ensure dimensional accuracy. Excellent teamwork and reliability are essential to success in this position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years’ experience in spot welding preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to partner with leadership.

Responsibilities

• Operate spot welding equipment and set up electrodes.
• Inspect welds and verify dimensions with micrometer/calipers.
• Follow routings, prints, or instructions and ensure quality per control plans.
• Identify and report faults or process issues to supervisors.

Position Summary

We are currently looking for a 1st & 2nd shift Spot Welder with set-up experience to join our growing Roseville, MN location. If you are experienced in sheet metal fabrication, this could be an excellent opportunity for you.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Use Spot Welding equipment; apply two shaped copper alloy electrodes to concentrate welding current into a small "spot" and to simultaneously clamp the sheets together. Force a large current through the spot to melt the metal and form the weld.
• Install proper electrodes on the spot-welding machine.
• Adjusts control for proper heat, pressure settings, and timing of current.
• Use the proper amount of heat to match the sheet's material properties, thickness, and type of electrodes.
• Work from routings, prints, or instructions.
• Inspect work using a micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring instruments.
• Examines welded components for any defects.
• Deliver the first piece to inspection for verification of dimensions and weld accuracy.
• Responsible for producing the highest level of quality, utilizing control plans, customer drawings, and appropriate work instructions.
• Supervising and identifying any fault in operating the equipment or in relation to any material or equipment, then notifying the supervisors

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years’ experience in Spot Welding preferred
• Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with the leadership team
• Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to the mission
• Flexible and able to multi-task; can work with an ambiguous, fast-moving environment, while also driving toward clarity and solutions; demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding investment in people and systems
• Bend and lift, loading and unloading work pieces into the machine, and move from one workstation to another, alternately sitting and standing

5:00am to 3:30pm – Monday to Thursday (10-hours shift)
