Job summary

Oasis Academy Leesbrook in Oldham invites applications for a Sports Teaching Assistant Apprentice, a 16-month Level 3 apprenticeship. You will work under teaching staff to support learning, promote physical education, and assist with pupil management.

Responsibilities

• Develop links with local schools to assist with competitive sport and physical activity provision.
• Increase physical activity levels before, during and after the school day.
• Assist with staff development in Physical Education and School Sport.
• Assist the school in day-to-day duties.
• Contribute to the ethos, work and aims of the school.
• Understand and comply with policies and procedures and raise concerns promptly.

Sports Teaching Assistant Level 3 SEND Apprenticeship – Oasis Academy Leesbrook

Are you passionate about making a difference with children as they embark on their educational journey? We seek an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join our team as a Sports Teaching Assistant Apprentice in our welcoming primary school.

Key Details

Salary: £8.58 increasing to National Minimum Wage after 12 months

Working hours: Monday – Friday 8AM – 4PM 37.5 hours per week

Location: Secondary School, Roxbury Ave, Oldham OL4 5JE

Apprenticeship Details – 16 months expected duration to complete, working towards your Sports Teaching Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship. (All learning is delivered online/ remote).

Training Provider: LMP Education (rated 1st best UK training provider)

As a Sports Teaching Assistant Apprentice, you will work under the instruction/guidance of teaching/senior staff to undertake work/care/support programmes, to enable access to learning for pupils and to assist the teacher in the management of pupils. Your day-to-day duties include:

• To provide high-quality sports coaching before, during and after school to help promote the importance of physical education, school sports and physical activity.
• At times, you may be required to support the school in other areas if necessary and to gain skills across the curriculum
• Contribute towards competitive sports provision and day-to-day sport within the PE department
• Further develop links with local schools to help with competitive sport and physical activity provision
• Increase physical activity levels before, during and after the school day
• Assist with the improvement of staff development within the area of Physical Education and School Sport
• To assist the school in its day-to-day duties
• To contribute to the overall ethos, work & aims of the school
• Develop an understanding of policies & procedures, complying with their contents and raising concerns in a timely manner
