Job summary

Co-op Academy Southfield in Bradford, West Yorkshire, is seeking a dedicated Specialist Teaching Assistant to support children with special educational needs. You will deliver bespoke education, develop personalised learning, and collaborate with our inclusion team to promote inclusion and confidence.

The role requires GCSE Maths and English (grades 4–9) and a genuine passion for inclusive education. Experience in SEN is highly desirable.

Qualifications

  • Meet the intermediate Threshold Level of English fluency essential.

Are you a dedicated and experienced educator passionate about making a difference in the lives of Children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? At Co-op Academy Southfield, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team, where you'll play a pivotal role in our SEND provision.

As a Specialist Teaching Assistant at Co-op Academy Southfield, you will deliver bespoke, specialist education tailored to meet the evolving needs of SEN pupils, including those with complex requirements.You will develop and implement personalised learning to support each pupil’s unique needs and abilities. Use innovative teaching methods and resources to engage and inspire young learners. Collaborate with external agencies and our wider inclusion team to ensure holistic support for pupil’s development. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes confidence and growth.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Are anexcellentpractitioner. A specialism or additional training in Special Educational Needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
  • Areconfidentin the classroom and understand how children with SEND, learn.
  • Havehigh expectationsof what can be achieved.
  • Seek to buildpositiverelationships with children.
  • Areflexiblewith a good sense of humour and an understanding of the ‘bigger picture’.
