Job summary

YMCA Association Services Office in Dayton, OH is seeking a Sports Director to develop, organize, and implement high quality youth and adult sports programs. The role directs operations, monitors budgets, recruits and develops staff and volunteers, and builds community partnerships to expand programming.

The candidate should have a 2-year degree or equivalent, supervisory experience, valid driver's license, CPR/AED/First Aid/Oxygen within 60 days, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and YMCA

Qualifications

• A 2-year college degree or applicable experience is required; a Bachelor's degree in a related field is strongly preferred.
• CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen certification within 60 days of employment and kept current.
• Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience in recruiting, training, and supervising staff.
• Experience in youth and adult sports program systems, procedures, and guidelines.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation for travel to meetings and sites.
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and email applications; ability to learn YMCA internal software.

Responsibilities

• Directs, supervises, and monitors youth and adult sports operations and activities.
• Develops and monitors program budgets to meet objectives.
• Establishes new program activities and expands programming within the community.
• Recruits, hires, trains, and motivates staff and volunteers.
• Develops relationships with community organizations to support programming.
• Coordinates scheduling, facilities, and safety compliance for programs.
