Job summary

Texas Children's Hospital is seeking a Sports Physical Therapist to join a fast-paced pediatric-focused team. The role involves planning, evaluating, organizing, and implementing PT treatment programs for patients from infancy to adulthood, with on-campus 12-hour shifts and remote documentation time.

The therapist will evaluate patients, develop individualized plans of care, provide clinical leadership, and mentor junior staff while ensuring documentation accuracy.

Qualifications

• PTs perform developmentally appropriate evaluations for patients from 0 to adulthood.
• Ability to develop individualized plans of care based on evaluations.
• Experience documenting patient data in EMR per guidelines.
• Mentor less experienced staff and provide clinical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Completes patient evaluations and reassessments per hospital guidelines.

We are searching for a Sports Physical Therapist -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will plan, evaluate, organize and implement Physical Therapy (PT) treatment programs in a developmentally and age-appropriate manner for patients ages 0 - adulthood.

• They are 40 hours, but we'll be doing 12-hour shifts on campus and then time for remote documentation. General times on campus are 7:00 AM 7:00 PM
• SPT 1: Mon, Thur, Fri
• SPT 2: Mon, Wed, Fri
• SPT 3: Wed, Thur, Fri

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Completes patient evaluations and reassessments in accordance with hospital and department guidelines
• Develops an individualized plan of care based upon evaluation/reassessment findings according to hospital and departmental guidelines
• Provides clinical support to assigned outpatient clinic or specialty program
• Provides successful mentorship opportunities to less experienced staff (in area of specialty) as determined by evaluations completed by the \"learner\"
• Documents patient information in Electronic Medical Record according to hospital and departmental guidelines with no more than six (6) errors per year
• Provides clinical leadership role as a clinical instructor for at least 1 professional student per year
• Informs manager or designee of all unsafe and potentially unsafe situations, patient/personal injury, anticipated problems and unusual situations
• Actively participates in the development and gathering of Quality Improvement information

Skills & Requirements

• Degree in Physical Therapy required
• PT certification from the state of Texas required
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association preferred
• 2 years clinical experience OR 1-year medical residency experience preferred
