The Parks and Community Services Department is looking for dedicated referees and officials to ensure safe and fun play in our sports leagues. Under direction from the Recreation Coordinator, officiates at sport games including but not limited to: basketball, volleyball, softball, soccer and flag football and performs related duties as required.
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES-Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Any combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities for Youth and Adult Sports official is: Any combination of training and experience (paid or volunteer) in officiating youth or adult sports events, which would provide the required knowledge and abilities, is qualifying. First Aid certificate highly desirable. Applicants must be 18 years or older.
Prior to appointment to the position of Sports Official, a medical examination and Department of Justice Livescan fingerprinting will be required.
