Job summary

The University of Wisconsin–Madison is hiring a Clinical Research Coordinator I in the Department of Orthopedics & Rehabilitation to support ongoing sports medicine research. This full-time, on-campus role involves managing day-to-day study activities, data collection, and coordination with investigators, staff, and sponsors to ensure adherence to protocols.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience performing human subjects research in a clinical setting, including IRB management, data collection, and data entry/quality assurance
• 1 year experience using REDCap or another database management tool
• 1 year experience using Healthlink or another electronic medical record system

Responsibilities

• May assist with training of staff
• Supports Principal Investigators with manuscript preparation, authorship contributions, and grant preparation
• Performs quality checks
• Manages research workflow components, collects, prepares, processes, and submits participant data and samples to appropriate entities, adhering to research protocols
• Schedules logistics, determines workflows, and secures resources for clinical research trials
• Identifies work unit resources needs and manages supply and equipment inventory levels
• Recruits, screens, selects, determines eligibility and enrolls trial participants, collects more complex information, performs medical assessments, and answers varied questions under supervision of a medically licensed professional
• Coordinates multi-site clinical study activities, including activation, maintenance, and closure processes. Serves as a liaison among the Principal Investigator/research team, participating sites, study sponsors, and collaborators to administer protocols and ensure study goals and timelines are met.
