Onyx is building a regulated sports and markets platform in New York. We are hiring a Sports Market Operations Associate to ensure markets are accurate from listing through settlement, across live events, data feeds, and market rules.

You'll own market setup, determine outcomes from official data, and respond to injuries, weather, and news. This role requires careful judgment, sport knowledge, and willingness to work evenings and weekends. No sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of multiple sports, including rules and playoff structures.
• Experience with sportsbooks, fantasy sports, trading, or prediction markets.
• Experience with time-sensitive sports data from live feeds or official sources.
• Interest in sports and ability to follow multiple events concurrently.
• Careful judgment and multitasking in fast-moving situations.
• Familiarity with settlement edge cases like suspended games or stat corrections.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret box scores and rules.
• Clear written communication for market terms and decisions.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends around events.
• Dependable, detail-oriented work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Set up sports markets accurately, with terms reflecting game conditions and rules.
• Determine market outcomes using official data and timely settlement windows.
• Shape markets across spreads, totals, props, futures with clarity and user focus.
• Build and prioritize market coverage across major leagues and events.
• Respond to injuries, lineup changes, weather, and news affecting markets.
• Apply sports knowledge to spot opportunities and edge cases.
• Maintain knowledge of league rules, tiebreakers, and formats.
• Monitor events and data feeds, resolving discrepancies in markets.
• Write clear market clarifications on injuries, weather, or events.
• Collaborate with Product/Engineering to improve workflows and data integration.
