Sand Mountain Park & Amphitheater is seeking a Sports League Program Manager to lead youth and adult leagues, camps, and related programming at Albertville, AL. You will create a first-class programming experience for participants, coaches, officials and spectators across all offerings.

The ideal candidate holds a recreation/sports management degree and 3–5 years in sports programming, with proven scheduling of multiple events at one site, plus strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Directly align with the venue's Mission Statement and Core Values.
• Develop and execute all aspects of sports leagues and camp programming.
• Provide training, workflow structure, and leadership for coordinators.
• Develop and manage program budgets.
• Hire, train, and schedule scorekeepers and camp counselors.
• Manage registration processes and uniform distribution.
• Create efficient purchasing/registration for programming customers.
• Assist with venue-wide scheduling.
• Develop programming for corporate, group, adult, youth, family, and special groups.
• Track attendance data weekly and monthly.
• Incorporate stakeholder feedback for improvements.
• Collaborate with Marketing on campaigns.
• Schedule leagues and post-season play; ensure fairness.
• Oversee scheduling of officials.
• Serve as MOD during shifts.
• Other duties as assigned.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Sports League Program Manager is responsible for all youth and adult sports leagues, sports camps/clinics, summer/school break camps, and additional programming options. This position is responsible for creating a first-class programming experience for all participants, coaches, officials, and spectators across all our offerings.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING

• Directly align with the venue's Mission Statement and Core Values


• Develop and execute all aspects of sports leagues and camp programming


• Provide effective training, workflow structure, and leadership for the Sports Programming Coordinator, Sports Administrative Coordinator, and Sports Coordinator roles


• Develop and effectively manage program budgets


• Hire, train, develop, and schedule all Scorekeepers and Camp Counselors


• Effectively manage all aspects of the program/camp registration process


• Effectively manage the uniform selection and distribution process for all youth sports leagues


• Create an efficient purchasing/registration experience for all programming customers


• Assist with managing the venue-wide schedule


• Continuously developing programming that targets various markets ranging from corporate, group, adult, youth, family, and special interest groups; maximizing utilization and positive impact within our community


• Track and report programming attendance data on a weekly and monthly basis


• Use stakeholder feedback to implement programming improvement initiatives


• Effectively collaborate with the Marketing Team to support their programming/camp campaign efforts


• Execute all programming league and post-season play scheduling; create a fair and competitive playing experience for all participants


• Effective oversight of the scheduling of all officials for all leagues


• Serve as MOD during all scheduled shifts


• Other duties as assigned by the leader

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS

• Bachelor's degree in recreation or sports management or related field is preferred


• 3-5 years in sports programming is preferred


• Proven success in generating community interests and involvement through sports programming


• Proven experience in the successful scheduling and programming of multiple sporting events at one location during the same timeframe


• Experience and success in customer service and programming administration


• Action-oriented personality with a 'get it done' attitude and proficiency for efficiency


• Proven ability to evaluate team member performance based on established standards

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have proven track record of developing, marketing, and selling recreational programs


• Must have experience in programming setup & execution operations


• Must have knowledge of recreational/facility management software programs


• Must have excellent interpersonal and problem-solving negotiating skills


• Must be a team player


• Must have verbal and written communications skills


• Must have excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.


• Must be able to work a flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours)


• Must possess current CPR/AED/First Aid certification or must be willing to obtain them within 90 days of hire

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist high


• May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop or bend


• Will be required to operate a computer
