Description
Serves as Director of Media Relations for the Athletics Department. Coordinates all media activities and related publications. Oversees the maintenance of the UAB athletics web site with emphasis on sport press releases, roster/biography information and statistical records. Coordinates and maintains photography archive for all athletics teams. Maintains various records and statistics on team and individual athletes. Assists in coordination of interviews with the news media; prepares and submits all athletic press releases. Performs other duties as directed. Maintains a budget. Supervises staff members. Assigns staff members to cover various sports events. Makes arrangements for facilities and services needed for media relations. Interviews, hires, trains, evaluates, disciplines and discharges subordinate personnel. Adheres to all institution, conference and NCAA rules and regulations. Reports all known NCAA violations in accordance with institutional, conference and NCAA policies and guidelines.
Salary Range: $45,395 - $54,000
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and three (3) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.
