Job summary

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat), BoxCast and/or HUDL Focus, Stat Crew, NCAA Live Stats and/or PrestoSports statistical software, and social media platforms; able to manage content updates for the athletics website.
  • Service‑oriented and team‑focused.
  • Independent, detail‑oriented, able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while prioritizing multiple projects.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Job description

Sports Information Assistant

The Sports Information Assistant role is a Part‑Time (up to 28 hours a week), Non‑Exempt position. It reports to the Assistant Athletic Director for Communications.

Responsibilities include game coverage, production of printed materials, maintaining the athletics website, student‑athlete nomination submissions, graphic design, social media, video, and oversight of the exchange of roster files and statistical information. The SIA posts score information to NCAA and Curry Athletics Website and crafts post‑game stories with links to photos, statistics and player biographies.

Essential Functions
1. Publications / Marketing
  • Assist the Assistant Director of Athletics for Communications in all publicity and promotion of Curry’s athletic program, serving as the primary contact for selected sports.
  • Assist in the department’s webcasting through BoxCast and HUDL Focus.
  • Prepare programs for home games.
  • Assist in publication of special programs such as Hall of Fame, Community Outreach and Alumni Games.
  • File weekly conference reports, post‑game releases, and report post‑game results to media.
  • Write and edit post‑game stories, news releases and feature stories.
  • Publish content to the athletic department website regularly using the PrestoSports administrative system.
  • Provide assistance for team photo days.
  • Manage the department’s social media presence across multiple platforms.
  • Assist in graphic design and/or video projects as assigned.
2. Game Administration
  • Compile in‑contest statistics (as mandated by the conference and NCAA) and file regular reports.
  • Exchange rosters, results and stats with opponents’ sports information personnel.
  • Manage the press box for selected sports as directed by the Assistant Athletic Director.
  • Set up and run live stats and streaming video for selected sports.
  • Handle live stats setup, Stat Crew game file preparation, scoreboard scroll updates.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Athletics or the Director of Athletics.
Additional Functions
  • Maintain confidentiality, professional protocols and individual privacy.
  • Assist with the supervision and education of student employees.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor or designee.

Salary

$21.00 to $23.00 hourly. The position is part‑time, 28 hours per week for 10 months.
