Job summary

The University of Scranton is seeking an Intercollegiate Athletics Coordinator to provide hands-on, department-wide experience in sports information, media relations, postseason events and enhancing the student-athlete experience within a competitive NCAA Division III athletics program.

The coordinator will promote the University’s student-athletes, teams, and athletic achievements across multiple platforms while supporting day-to-day department operations, including game-day operations, press

Responsibilities

  • Assist with game-day operations.
  • Develop and submit proposals to host NCAA Tournament competitions, including creating proposed budgets and securing hotel rooms.
  • Support SAAC advisor in planning and execution of the Iggy Awards show at the end of each academic year.
  • Oversee scheduling of work study students to monitor the Giaquinto Strength & Conditioning Center, and schedule team lifts.
  • Manage live statistics and scoring for home athletic events, including but not limited to men’s and women’s volleyball.
  • Assist in the creation, editing, and distribution of press releases, game recaps, feature stories, and announcements.
  • Maintain and update athletic department website content, including rosters, schedules, and statistics.
  • Develop and schedule social media content across platforms (Instagram, X, Facebook, etc.).
  • Assist with production and execution of live broadcasts for home events.

Department Athletic Communications Job Purpose
