Job summary

City of Peoria, Arizona seeks a Parks and Recreation leader to provide site leadership at one of the three community parks or the Peoria Sports Complex. You will supervise staff, oversee ball field preparation and renovations, manage irrigation systems, and ensure safe operations of park assets.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of related municipal experience, a Bachelor's degree, and the required pest control, playground safety, backflow, and driver's licenses within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any field or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years related experience with supervision.
• Licensed for Ornamental and Turf Pest Control within 6 months of hire.
• Playground Safety Certification within 6 months of hire.
• Backflow/Check Valve Certification within 6 months of hire.
• Valid AZ Driver’s License upon hire.
• Municipal or government setting experience preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff engaged in maintenance and landscaping of parks and the Sports Complex.
• Conduct ball field maintenance and renovations.
• Oversee irrigation system testing and maintenance.
• Act as onsite turf grass management technical lead for fertilizers and pesticides.
• Complete administrative tasks and safety inspections.
