Job summary

The City of Ankeny is seeking weekend Athletic Field Crew to help maintain sports complex fields and grounds. The role runs Saturdays and Sundays with either a 6:00 am - 2:30 pm or 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm shift, starting as soon as possible and ending in late October 2026.

Compensation is $14.00 per hour. Applicants must be at least 16 years old and possess a valid Iowa driver’s license. Questions may be directed to Elliott Josephson, Sports Facilities Superintendent.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods under adverse weather conditions.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public.

• Must maintain a valid Iowa driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintains all field preparations including marking, dragging, raking, chalking, painting, and moving of goals.
• Makes regular rounds to inspect conditions, pick up trash, and remove debris from the sports complex grounds.
• Attends training and safety courses as needed.
• Assists in division building maintenance to keep buildings and grounds clean and neat appearing.
